Brathairmor is a large and wealthy village 5 miles to the west of Rasanach and is the economic and cultural centre of the local area. It has a blacksmith, trader and even an inn and a tavern. Bràthairmòr’s strong fyrd has kept the area safe for decades and Rasanach has flourished under its protection.
It is the heart of the Forghar (autumn) Clan of the Barastaros Tribe which was largely re-formed with Aggar and Holay settlers almost fifty years ago. The Clan Chief is Phoronestes, who was one of the original migrants, who is now old and infirm. He leaves the running of the clan to Ovardul the Shrieve (pictured right) who was appointed by his uncle, Avric the Halt, the Armsman of the Barastaros Tribe.
Ovardull is keen to keep the peace in the lands of the clan and has invested in the fyrds of the villages under his control. He is supportive of the cottars, armed warriors, of the Forghar and is popular with many. He charges a reasonable fee to convoys from the mines to shelter in Brathairmor and personally leads his warriors against nearby threats. The Shrieve is tall, handsome and well-liked by most who meet him. He is an initiate of Humakt, the god of war and death, and may not drink alcohol of any type. He has no wife or mistresses either.
He is on good terms with the folk of Rasanach and always welcomes Dardina, the Priestess of the Earth Goddess Ernalda, when she visits. The village of Brathairmor is part of her flock and she cares for the villagers.
